1World Unite have released the second edition of 1World News, a newspaper aimed at children to help inform them about the world and help promote sustainability.

The first edition was well received by both teachers and pupils, with teachers seeing it as a valuable resource and pupils enjoying reading about the world and how they can help protect our environment.

1World Unite is a new start-up based here in Formation Zone, founded in the belief that if we want change, we need to educate our children about the world. Founded by Christine Farrell, and with the support of Roy Ferguson and Hannah Mattison, 1World Unite hopes to foster a greater understanding of the world so that children have the knowledge they need to develop as truly global citizens.

Talking the about project Christine said:

“All our resources have been designed to put learning into a ‘global’ context, to promote active critical thinking, tolerance and self-awareness. Throughout everything we create is the common thread of ‘optimism’ and take-aways that give young people information so that they can get involved, do and that they all have an opportunity to be the change, make a difference and work together.”
