After four popular crowdfunding events around Devon and Cornwall, GAIN’s Soup is back in Plymouth on Wednesday 21 September.

So what’s the twist? The next Soup will be a networking breakfast taking place Wednesday 21 September from 8.30am – 10.00am in the Plymouth University Graduation Marquee on Plymouth Hoe. A breakfast bap, tea, coffee and a pitch-battle to start your working day, generously sponsored by Francis Clark LLP and City College Plymouth.

The winning format remains the same; four pitchers will compete for the prize money made up from audience ticket sales plus a package of business support from GAIN, Formation Zone, Devon Chamber of Commerce, City College Plymouth and Futures Entrepreneurship Centre at Plymouth University. The focus will be on the digital sector this time so if you know of any exciting local start-ups in this industry looking for support, Soup can help.

The Family Foraging Kitchen founder, Vix Hill-Ryder, won the last Soup on 10 May 2016 due to her passionate pitch. Vix said:

“It was a great event, and it was really inspiring to hear from fellow female entrepreneurs. I was incredibly nervous and forgot most of my pitch so I had to improvise and just spoke from the heart.”
